BCTA has recently received concerns regarding engine brake noise in the residential areas in and around the Abbotsford Sumas Bypass. We would like to remind carriers to please be conscious of excessive noise produced by their vehicles when travelling through these areas.

BCTA is pleased to announce that Year Three of the CleanBC Heavy-Duty Vehicle Efficiency (HDVE) Program has been extended until September 30th, 2022. We are excited to offer an extension to this year’s HDVE Program to provide carriers with five additional months to apply and take advantage of the funding provided by the Province of BC to adopt low carbon solutions that fit their operations.
Eligible companies in the commercial transportation sector will have six additional months to apply for generous incentives to purchase and install fuel-efficient technology through the CleanBC Heavy-Duty Vehicle Efficiency (HDVE) Program.

The BC Trucking Association has submitted a letter to the City of Vancouver to express significant concern with the speed reduction pilot being proposed.
The City is recommending that the speed limit be lowered on sections of the truck route network at elementary schools. BCTA believes that if this pilot is implemented, it will create a byzantine road network that further diminishes safety along the intended and adjacent corridors.
