Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project Update: New Interchange at River Road

As part of the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project, final completion works for the new interchange at River Road connecting to Highway 17 are scheduled in October 2022. Notice of Temporary Clearance Restriction: Township of Langley

Please be advised that the until October 31, 2022, there is a temporary height clearance restriction of 4.15m due to repairs of the pedestrian overpass at the 6800 block of 200 street in the Township of Langley.  200 Street will remain open to two-way traffic with temporary lane closures outside of peak traffic hours.

Your feedback is wanted on the redesign of the Taylor Bridge replacement, which is critical for the transportation of goods and services in and out of NEBC with 30% of traffic volumes on the bridge being commercial.

Closure of Highway 1: Kicking Horse Canyon September Traffic Schedule

The Kicking Horse Canyon Constructors (KHCC) will be implementing intermittent lane closures, overnight full closures and extended closures on Trans-Canada Highway for the Kicking Horse Canyon Phase 4 construction through September.

All through traffic on Highway 1 from Golden to Castle Junction will be routed via highways 93S and 95 for the extended closure (an additional 1.5 hours travel time), with exceptions.

Truck Route Temporary Closure: West King Edward

Please note that due to water main pipes installation, a temporary closure of a section of the north-south route (MacDonald-McKenzie) will be required for several days. This is anticipated to be from August 27 through to August 30.

Road signs will be installed at either end of the route at W Broadway and W 41st Avenue.  to inform drivers. Dates of construction are subject to change, so please visit the DriveBC website for up-to-date information.

Local residents, business and industry, and the public are invited to share input on the next stage of improvements to Taylor Bridge.

This bridge is an important link for the North and South Peace regions that connects Fort St. John to Dawson Creek via Taylor. Approximately 7,500 vehicles cross the bridge every day- 30% of this traffic is commercial truck traffic.
