Kicking Horse Canyon — March Traffic Schedule

Flood-damaged Section of Highway 11 Now Reopened

Temporary repairs to the northbound lanes of Highway 11 between Hazelwood Avenue and Clayburn Road are now complete and on March 2, the highway reopened to four lanes.

This section of the highway has been closed since November 15, 2021, due to the flooding. Two lanes were reopened to passenger vehicle traffic on December 6 and to commercial vehicles shortly after on December 10.

Highway 4- Kennedy Hill Updated Closure Notice

Construction activity for the Kennedy Hill Improvement Project continues, with daytime closures on specified weekdays between 5am-7am, and between 11am-3pm as shown on the latest traffic update schedule.

The Highway 4 - Kennedy Hill Safety Improvements project is expected to be completed in Summer 2022 and is currently approximately 75% complete.

Simon Fraser Bridge Project To Improve Goods Movement to Northern BC

Work is scheduled to begin at the end of January on upgrading the southbound Simon Fraser Bridge, located on Highway 97 in Prince George.  The project includes a full deck replacement and strengthening of the truss. It will also replace the bridge’s north abutment which will increase the current underpass height restrictions and allow taller transport trucks to pass underneath on Queensway/Ferry Avenue.

Highway 1 Reopens through Fraser Canyon

As of noon on January 24, 2022, all vehicle traffic will be allowed on Highway 1 through the Fraser Canyon. The highway will be open to legal width and weight loading. However, loads will be limited to 25 metres in length until the rehabilitation of the highway bridge at Nicomen River is complete.
