Trucking & Logistics Workforce Bootcamp – Express Edition 

The day begins with a special BC edition of Trucking HR Canada’s Trucking & Logistics Workforce Bootcamp. 

Designed specifically for the trucking and logistics sector, the Bootcamp delivers practical workforce insights, real-world examples and strategies that employers can take back to their organizations. 

Whether you work in HR, operations, safety, recruitment or leadership, this fast-paced Express Edition will provide an opportunity to examine current workforce challenges, strengthen people-management practices and hear what other employers are doing to build stronger, more resilient workplaces. 

Celebrating BC’s Top Fleet Employers 

For the first time, BCTA and Trucking HR Canada will come together in BC to recognize provincial participants in Trucking HR Canada’s Top Fleet Employers program. 

Top Fleet Employers is a national program recognizing trucking and logistics organizations that demonstrate high standards in their HR policies and practices. Fleets undergo an annual assessment examining how they employ, support and engage their people. 

We’re proud to recognize the BC organizations that have earned this national designation and the teams behind their success. 

BCTA Long Service Recognition 

Strong associations are built on the commitment of their members. 

BCTA’s Long Service Recognition honours members at each five-year membership milestone following 25 years with the Association. 

These commemorative plaques recognize the longstanding support and commitment these organizations have shown to BCTA and to BC’s trucking industry. We look forward to celebrating this year’s recipients and thanking them for the role they have played in strengthening our Association over the years. 

Clean Carrier Awards 

BCTA will also recognize the organizations that have achieved certification through the Clean Carrier Program. 

The Clean Carrier Program is BCTA’s eco-certification initiative for motor carriers and is designed to recognize organizations demonstrating a commitment to environmentally responsible and sustainable operating practices. 

The Clean Carrier Awards provide an opportunity to celebrate participating carriers and the work being done across their organizations to reduce environmental impact and support a more sustainable future for trucking. 

Luncheon Keynote: David Granirer, RPC, M.S.M. 

Mental health is serious. Talking about it doesn’t always have to be. We are pleased to welcome David Granirer, RPC, M.S.M., as our luncheon keynote speaker. David is a counsellor, stand-up comic, author and founder of Stand Up For Mental Health™ (SMH), a program that teaches stand-up comedy to people living with mental-health issues. Drawing on both his professional background and his own experience with bipolar disorder, David uses humour to challenge stigma, build understanding and help audiences see mental health from a different perspective. 

David was featured in the VOICE Award-winning documentary Cracking Up and has received numerous honours for his work, including a Life Unlimited Award from the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, an Award of Excellence from the National Council for Behavioural Health, a Champion of Mental Health Award, and a Meritorious Service Medal from the Governor General of Canada. He has also been recognized as one of Canada’s 150 Difference Makers in mental health.
