Starting in late June 2021, the City of Vancouver will begin roadwork on Clark Drive from Hastings to 1st Ave. The work will begin with repairs to sidewalks and then complete with full width paving.
Construction will start at Hastings and move south towards 1st Ave. Construction will generally take place Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional weekend and evening work as needed.

On June 16, BCTA submitted a letter to Minister Fleming to express significant concern with regards to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MoTI) Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project and its inability to accommodate oversized vehicles that transport cargo freight throughout Western Canada.

Beginning July 4, 2021, evening intermittent single-lane closures and overnight full closures will occur on Trans-Canada Highway between Golden and west of the Kicking Horse rest area. Intermittent single-lane closures will occur weekly from Sunday night to Friday night. Overnight full closures will continue from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. (MDT) Sunday night to Friday morning for the month.

Intermittent Lane Closures:
As part of the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project, the new off-ramp from Highway 17 westbound to River Road and 96 Street is anticipated to open to traffic mid June 2021. The new exit is located approximately 500 metres in advance of the Highway 91C/Highway 17 intersection.
The right-hand turn lane from Highway 17 will permanently close once the new exit opens.
Traffic Impacts:
Due to the Broadway Subway Project, traffic pattern changes along Broadway between Kingsway and Columbia Street will begin on June 5th. Work to transition the traffic configuration to three lanes on Broadway (2 eastbound and 1 westbound) will start the evening of Saturday, June 5th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 am on Sunday, June 6th.

Work to transition traffic configuration will continue until the end of August to allow for construction of traffic deck.
As Phase 4 construction continues for the Kicking Horse Canyon Project, evening lane closures and overnight full closures will be implemented throughout the month of June between Golden and west of the Kicking Horse rest area.

Highways 93S and 95 will be available as an alternate route, with an additional driving time of approximately 90 minutes.
Intermittent Lane Closures:
Due to rock blasting activity for the Kennedy Hill Improvement Project, four-hour daytime closures on weekdays, between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, are scheduled to occur until the end of June.

On May 26, 2021 BCTA met with the City of North Vancouver to discuss the modelling outputs and design criteria for Esplanade. During the meeting, BCTA reviewed design measures to ensure that current operational needs, future growth in demand of the commercial sector, congestion, greenhouse gas emissions, and safety implications are being considered.
Construction activities for the Highway 91/17 Upgrade Project are now underway. Starting Sunday, June 6th, a retaining wall located on Highway 17 will be removed and rebuilt closer to River Road. This will take approximately 7-10 nights to complete.
Traffic Impacts:
Work will take place between 8:00 pm and 5:00 am.
There will be a temporary slow lane closure on Highway 17 (westbound) right before Highway 91C.
